Cat cafés have become places of comfort where caffeine and socializing meets kitties, offering a purrfect escape from daily stress. It all began in Taiwan in 1998, when the world's first cat café, Cat Flower Garden, opened in Taipei. It quickly became a local hit. But it wasn't until Japan embraced the idea in the early 2000s that cat cafés truly bloomed into a global trend. Tokyo, a city known for cramped apartments and pet restrictions, saw cat cafés as the perfect solution for animal lovers who couldn't keep pets at home.

By the mid-2000s, cat cafés became not just cozy hangouts but also a form of animal therapy. As eccentric as it may have seemed, visitors took to the cats that roamed the area, despite there being beverages and food around. Soon, cities around the world adopted the concept. Many cafés partnered with shelters, allowing guests to adopt cats they bonded with, turning casual coffee breaks into life-changing moments. So enjoy these adorable photos of cats in their "natural" habitat.

Tuesday is back again, the scourge of the work week will simply never leave us alone. So to help it pass along a little easier, we decided that this Tuesday we are going trashy and throwing all class out of the window. Because sometimes the only way to get out of your own head is to do something that you would never normally do.

Like for example, hanging out with a bunch of flirty felines who want nothing more than to use their charisma and charms to either get a free meal out of you, or to install themselves into your home. So if you want to get out of your own head for a few moments and experience what it is like to be hit on by some of feline-kind's most cunning pickup artists then kick back and get to scrolling.

Some weeks hit harder than a cat's zoomies at 3 AM. The coffee machine's hissing at you, deadlines keep multiplying like a litter of kittens, and the weekend feels farther away than that mysterious spot on the ceiling your cat won't stop staring at. Truly, life can be a real hissterical mess sometimes.

But fear not, fellow pawrents of chaos - we've got the ultimate cure for midweek madness, and it doesn't come in pill form. Nope. It comes in the shape of glorious cat memes. Yes, the internet's true currency: felines being unhinged, floofy, and fabulous, all at once. Think about it - cats don't need to try to be funny. They just exist. They loaf meowjestically. They sprint across the living room like Olympic sprinters. They scream at invisible ghosts, knock your water glass onto the floor, and then look at you like you're the problem. That, friends, is comedy gold.

So, take this as your official pawscription: stop pretending to care about that spreadsheet, put your "serious face" away, and indulge in the endless scroll of feline funnies. Your brain deserves a treat, and nothing heals the soul like more than 50 smol, silly, hissterical cat memes. Because honestly? Cat comedy is the only kind of parenting we're qualified for.

Cats are nearly impawssible to discipline. And even when you think you're succeeding, you might not be as successful as you think. Science has actually shown us that cats usually associate punishment with you, and not the thing they were doing. So, that spray bottle you use whenever Mr. Fluffy gets on the counters? Yeah, it doesn't really teach him not to get up there, but it does teach him to learn that you have the power to punish him.

This, and the fact that our cats are the cutest things in the world, have led us to one simple conclusion: they are allowed to get away with anything. If we can't really punish them, and we don't really want to anyway, then we just have to let them do whatever they want. Their "punishment" will be in the form of cuddles and forehead kisses, that way, we both get what we want. We are living in their house, after all, so this compromise is a win-win scenario for both of us.

Before you judge us, we know that you do it too. You also let your cats get away with some silly shenanigans, all because they meow and rub up against you afterwards, and if you're anything like us, all that anger just melts away and comes back in the form of cuteness-aggression. For all of you cat owners who let your kitties get away with everything, these feline funnies below are purrfect for you. You'll understand why in just a second.

As people who believe that friendships get tested during people's most difficult periods, we think that should do whatever you can to help your friends in their times of need. That includes bringing them into your homes for a while. It includes making an effort to accommodate them and help them get their footing back under them.

Of course, we warn our friends that we do have a couple adorable cats in our house that they will have to deal with, and if our friends are bringing dogs, those dogs will have to deal with the cats too. Because as many accommodations that we are willing to make, our cats (also known as our family members) will always take first priority. We think that's fair. And so we respect what the friend in this story did. She invited a friend in need into her home, suffered the five dogs that she brought with her and all the other insufferable things that her houseguest did. And then, the guest crossed a line…

Well, we've come to the end of another month on this earth run by the cat family. The passage of time is concerning for many, but embracing it and giving ourselves loads of things to look forward to is what keeps us going. Also, who the heck would feed our cats if we didn't get up in the meowrning? Octobpurr is right around the corner, which means we're in the early days of autumn!

Many people will think of October and envision pumpkin spice lattes, crunchy leaves, and LOTS of candy corn. That's all fine and dandy, but all I'm able to think about is the hissterical Halloween costumes I've got planned for my little tuxedo kitty. I find myself thanking my lucky purrs every day because my cat likes wearing costumes and clothes in general. He absolutely hates baths, which stinks—beggars can't be choosers, though.

How do you pet parents plan on ringing in the autumnal Octobpurr season? Will you supervise visits to the park with your catto on a leash so they can crunch some leaves? Or, will you stage a hilarious photo-op of them dressed up as a bumblebee? The opportunities are endless. Scroll below to finish Septembpurr with a laugh.

When it comes to educating and training your pets, you reap what you sow. If you don't work hard to teach your beloved furriends wrong from right, nothing will stop them from doing anything they please.

We all know that when it comes to cats, they will do whatever they want, whether you like it or not. But that doesn't necessarily mean you should let them. At our household, we do everything from preventing our cats from destroying the furniture or eating our food, even when it feels like nothing we do gets through to the one brain cell they share.

When the mother in the story below allowed their cat to eat food out of her own plate, she set herself up for failure in training the little rascal. Why wouldn't the cat seize every opportunity they can to take food from whatever plate is available? Especially the east target, which is the 7-year-old son.

That leads to the question: Was it justified for Mom to demand her son apologize to the cat after yelling at it for stealing his food? Or was it her fault to begin with? Keep scrolling to read the full tale.

There is something about meeting pregnant furriends out in the wild that always makes us want to open our home to every single one of them.

We simply cannot see that full belly, which we know is the home for even more furry babies in need, and walk away. We want to ensure that these babies get delivered somewhere safe, warm, and stress-free. We want the mama to raise her babies without having to worry about the rain, food, or shelter. All she should be doing is focusing on her children and resting for as long as she can.

Thankfully, we are not the only ones with these instincts, as there are many hoomans out there who are willing to put everything aside for the opportunity to help a fluffy friend in need.

Take the couple in the story below as an example. They noticed there is a cat hanging out outside their door and immediately clocked that she is pregnant. While they did not make it in time to help her with her delivery, they were there from the moment they found the litter, and they did not hesitate to offer help.

You don't need a scientific study to know that cats are cute. Their whiskers, fur, and adorable meows all coalesce together in a aggregation of cuteness. Imagine taking a pile of kittens to the lab, putting their paws under microscopes, and looking at their fur in petri dishes. Studies on the "cuteness effect" have even shown that looking at adorable animals can lower stress levels, boost mood, and sharpen focus. It's practically science!

Think of this collection of cute kitties as your own little experiment on your mood. Hypothesis: scrolling through pictures of adorable fur balls will brighten your day. Method: grab your phone, sip your coffee, and start scrolling. Observation: you'll find your shoulders relaxing and maybe even catch yourself giggling. Conclusion: kitties work better than coffee for an instant serotonin and dopamine boost.

So while the world of science grapples with big questions about the universe, you can rest assured that one thing is absolutely, empirically true: cute cats are good for the human soul.

Oh Monday, it truly is the worst of days, and if it were up to us, we would declare them to be a public holiday, though that would be problematic for Tuesday, but you know what they say, one problem at a time.

So to try and offer you a little levity as you trudge your way through this harsh and harrowing day we made this collection of grumpy cat photos for you to either have a good giggle to, or purrhaps for you to finally find your lookalike when you are grumpy yourself. After all, we all have at least a little grumpy cat within us, whether we like to admit it or not. So take a moment to step away from the madness of Monday and indulge in the delight of cute cats, even if they are a bit angy.

Jealousy is a very ugly emotion. It makes us do and say some seriously unthought out and unhinged things and at its worst it turns us into complete monsters. Which is pretty much what one woman became when she simply could not handle the love and warmth that her boyfriend shared with his cat child. Purrhaps it was a symptom of the girlfriend's need for complete attention and expression of love that she was denied in her youth.

But no matter where it came from, coming to the point where you suggest giving up on the life of a beloved cat child instead of investing in a little bit of medical treatment is a hundred steps too far for any cat lover's taste. So let this serve as a warning to those who are jealous and a reminder to those who love cats, feline love trumps all, there is no getting between it and those who attempt to will face consequences.

We're not supposed to have a favorite cat breed here at the I Can Has Cheezburger offices, but let us tell you a little secret: we do. They're not the purrfectly precise Persian cats, or the adorable Abyssinians, but the most chaotic of all cat breeds: the orange cat. Purrhaps it's their himbo energy, or maybe it's their pension for liking lasagna, but we just love those chaotic little clementine-colored cuties. They're loving, they're snuggly, and they keep our lives interesting with their derpiness.

Sure, it also means that we wake up in the middle of the night sometimes to him yowling because he got his head stuck in a container, or we walk into the room to see him hanging from the ceiling fan, but what is life without a little surprise every now and then? At the end of the day, each one of us is a little bit of a weirdo, and by loving him in all of his weirdness, we feel a little bit like we're loving the weird and chaotic parts of ourselves.

To all of you ginger cat pawrents out there, we see you, and we understand how crazy it can be. But in the end, you'll have a snuggly boy cat to cuddle with for a long time, and they will love you so fiercely that you won't even feel worthy.

There are two things guaranteed to light up even the coldest heart: gorgeous interior design and cats. Now, someone has cracked the code and combined them, like the cheese and pickle sandwich of the home décor world, except way more photogenic. Let's be honest, staring at sun-drenched minimalist living rooms can only do so much for the soul. Add a couple of cats flaunting their fur on tiny velvet thrones, though, and suddenly you understand what happiness is supposed to feel like.

This is perfect because, who doesn't want pictures of beautiful interior gems and absolute grails disguised as functional furniture? Now just imagine this, but WITH CATS. Are you kidding me? Was this designed for you specifically? Am I being followed? Did someone sneak into my brain and note down everything I want and need? That's not paranoia, that's good taste.

The first day of fall has finally arrived, and no one is more excited than our feline friends. While hoomans grab pumpkin spice lattes, cats are busy plotting their purrfect autumn adventures. The air is crisp, the blankets are out, and the sunbeams come with just the right amount of cozy warmth for mid-afternoon catnaps.

Of course, the real highlight of fall for cats is the crunchy leaves. Nothing delights a whiskered explorer more than pouncing into a pile and hearing that satisfying crunch under their paws. It's like nature's bubble wrap. Irresistible to step on, leap into, and scatter everywhere. Bonus points if the leaves stick to their fur, leaving them decorated like tiny woodland royalty.

Indoors, cats embrace the season with equal cattitude, claiming every soft blanket in the house and demanding to be the center of all cozy activities. Whether they're loafing by the window, chasing leaves in the wind, or snoozing through spooky movie marathons, cats remind us that fall is about slowing down, soaking in the cozy vibes, and adding a dash of playful mischief to the season.
